Reproduction of L'etoile Perdue by William Bouguereau
From the collection of Marsha Abramo, Bristol, VT.
I commissioned Mom to paint this reproduction when I accepted the position at IBM and moved to VT.
Unfortunately it was never finished and only arrived in VT in 2003 when she arrived.
The rectangular box of lighter color on the upper left is where the copy of the original
she painted from was affixed to the canvas.
Mom so admired William-Adolphe Bouguereau who was a traditionalist whose
realistic genre paintings and mythological themes were modern interpretations of Classical subjects
with a heavy emphasis on the female human body.  Many of her reproductions are from his vast collection.
She was delighted to find that he was born in LaRochelle, France where her own ancestors are from.
30" x 60", Oil on Canvas, 1980
