All paintings here are in the collection of Joe and Jane Abramo, Kauai, unless otherwise noted.

Ships Under Sail
From the Collection of Marsha Abramo, Bristol, VT.
Recently donated to Marsha's collection by Anthony Abramo, Gerry's nephew.
This was Gerry's first oil painting and was given to her nephew as a gift.

The Ship Yard

Growing up in the Abramo household, we all remember Gerry and her Art. We all recognize this painting as hanging in the dining room wall.
She told me herself that it was the first oil painting she completed and it was done in her art teachers studio on Felton Street, Waltham.

New England Spring

This piece was painted en plein air and early during her formal training.

Hideaways Beach
From the growing collection of my daughter, Jackie Kropp of San Francisco, CA
A copy also exists with my brother Nick on Oahu HI.
Encouraged to pursue her art while on Kauai, I persuaded her to do a few landscapes.
This one is of Hideaways, one of my favorite surfing areas in Princeville, Kauai.

Hale Moi #111b
From the Collection of Joe Abramo, Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii.
Painted en plein air during her first visit to Kauai in 1987. She stayed with us at Hale Moi #111 on the “B” side, hence the name.
She said it was unfinished. Oil on Canvas, 12” x 16” circa Spring 1987.

Anini - 1987
In the collection of Gerry's son, Nick Abramo of Mililani, Oahu.
Anini was painted en plein aire late 1986 thru early 1987.
While visiting her son Joe on an extended stay on Kauai.
She had her art supplies with her and Joe built her an easel out of scrap wood.
He would drop her at the location and come back to pick her up after a painting session.
Her sessions outdoors always included some time soaking up the sun.

Shipwrecks Beach
In the collection of Gerry's son, Nick Abramo of Mililani, Oahu.
The Shipwreck's Beach painting was a wedding gift to us, given to us in 1994 or early '95.
I'm pretty sure that one was from a postcard. She knew I surfed there a lot.

Nip and Tuck
Hanging in Dave Abramo's Mass Auto Outlet Offices in Worcester Mass.
Depicting aerial combat as described in the John Comer's book "Combat Crew".
Now being used on the Amazon E-Book cover.
Quoute from the book: Nick Abramo: "Sir, I am wounded."
Staff Sargent Nick Abramo sustained a flak wound to the foot, on September 9th 1943, during the Lille, France mission.
Nick earned a purple heart in the Ball Turret of the B17-F "Nip and Tuck".
This was Gerry's painting done during at the end of the year 2000.  Done at Dave's insistence and her resistance.
Gerry was 80 years old and struggling with carpel tunnel - memory issues - and a little paranoia.

Ten Pound Island, Gloucester, Mass.
From the Collection of Joe Abramo, Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii.
Another gift she presented to me during one of our visits to MA. One of the few known watercolors.
And one the few that has a title/description on the back in her own hand.
She switched from her much loved medium of "Oils" because the smell of the "Turp" was bothering her.
We had gone to visit at her home / studio in Gloucester, she was very happy during most of her stay there.

Dark Horses

Gerry brought this to Kauai on her last visit to me in the islands as a gift for me.
I then gifted it to my daughter Jackie recently.
It was probably done in Gloucester, Mass, before she moved to Vermont.
